Compliance Assessment survey of Section 7, 8 & 9 of COTPA

MPVHA recently conducted a “Compliance Assessment survey of Section 7, 8 & 9 of Packaging and labelling amendment rules, 2011 of COTPA in Indore.” The Key findings for which are: 100 % compliance to GSR (417) E; May 27, 2011 was seen in Indian cigarettes. Lowest compliance to GSR (417) E; May 27, 2011 was seen in Imported cigarettes. 82% compliance to GSR (417) E; May 27, 2011 was seen in Bidis. 55% compliance to GSR (417) E; May 27, 2011 was seen in Cigars. In 50% of Smokeless Tobacco packs the specified warning was positioned in a manner that, of the elements of the warning got covered when the package was sealed or opened In 32 % Smokeless Tobacco packs PHW warning was placed at the joints between two pouches or sachets packs
