COVID 19 Protection and Relief

The member organizations of MPVHA and all the staff of various projects, spread in various districts and blocks of the state put their heart and soul for the prevention, protection and to meet the immediate felt needs of the community, not only by closely standing with them but also make them aware with indispensible information to fight with Corona Virus (Covid-19).

1: Distribution of Masks: Masks distributed through member organizations to most needy and vulnerable groups such as vegetable sellers, labourers, shop owners, petrol pump workers, etc. The mask also contained the message of “No Tobacco” and “Jindagi Chuno Tambaku Nahi” On both sides of the surface.

2: Government orders: Facilitated in terms of drafting the letter as per the appeal issued from ICMR to ban use of smoking and smokeless tobacco products, as spitting enhance the spread of COVID infection. More than 40 District Collectors issued the letters for their respective districts.

3: The State Health Department involved MPVHA team During lockdown and initial COVID-19 infection period to extend hands of the department in terms of ensuring the uninterrupted health commodities supplies from State to Block and essential requirement from Block to State. Under this program the MPVHA team played versatile role. Facilitated and helped department for uninterrupted supply of drug, consumables and equipments till Block level in around 100 blocks. Orientation done through tele-calling to ASHA, ANM, ASHA Sahyogini, ICDS personnel, PRI members, stakeholder and among communities.

4: Support given to MP Government to collect COVID case data collection from various districts.

5: Facilitated the district administration in 5 tribal districts of Indore division to ensure uninterrupted supply of food through Public Distribution System. The team contacted through phone and disseminated information related to COVID-19 prevention to 1,050 women covered under PDS system (those who have ration cards), 600 Front Line Workers and 275 staff members of food department (warehouse and Fair Price owners).

2: Awareness campaign through mobile vehicle properly displaying the COVID protection messages.
3: Wall writings to promote COVID protective behavior in urban slums.
4: Used Cable Network and Social Media to disseminate the information related to hand and surface hygiene including importance of vaccination.
